Uniqlo Save Japan Tees

Uniqlo and the Condé Nast Group came together to create a limited edition collection of ‘Save Japan’ T-shirts. These T-shirts are in aid of the parts of the country that were affected by the earthquake and the whole idea is for the profits to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.

Being the Uniqlo fan that she is, on hearing about these charity Tees, Taiwo (TaDeRa, @SportMillionsMe) bought two: Charlize Theron and Alber Elbaz and I got one: Nicole Kidman. Here are the pictures from our Saturday afternoon photo shoot.

Ps: Those that know me will be surprised I didn’t get the Victoria Beckham one. I guess it was too simple for me, and yes I know ‘simplicity is the ultimate elegance’ but there’s no harm in change. Besides, who says I’m not still going to buy it 😉

Pps: You’ll notice our graduation tickets are tucked in between some of the pictures. I’m uber excited. Still trying to sort out my outfit so until then….

Padlock Posing

Yesterday’s weather was simply glorious!!!! Those of us in Birmingham experienced highs of 28°C or thereabouts, and taking into account the usual British weather, this was nothing short of rare.

On our way back from Church, we ran into a massive padlock outside BMW which Sumbo and I insisted on posing with it. Here are pictures from our Padlock Posing…..

High Street Update

You must have heard about the Lanvin for H&M, Jimmy Choo for H&M, Stella McCartney for H&M, you know the drill…… Well H&M have done it again and this time it’s with Versace. Now all of this has come as a bit of a shock considering that previously, Versace stated that collaborating with a high street store would confuse the brand. However, according to Vogue, it appears Donatella has had a change of heart and decided to release what she describes as a ‘quintessential Versace’ range.

The latest of H&M’s collaborations will be released on the 17th of November this year with studded leather, colourful prints and sharp tailoring dominating the collection along with a home ware range. If the success of previous collaborations are anything to go by, we can be sure that this collection will be flying off the shelves in no time.

Ore In Birmingham

Yesterday was our beloved Bukky‘s birthday and to celebrate, we headed out for the best Thai food Birmingham has to offer.

Being the sweet sister that she is, the beautiful Ore came down to celebrate with the rest of us and I’m sure you’ll agree that she was looking stunning with her ruched up-do and effortless ensemble.

Wrist Candy

Last weekend left me home alone as everyone else got on with their interesting lives. Armed with a laptop and unlimited internet access I began viewing numerous fashion and lifestyle blogs.

To avoid my usual ramblings lets just say thanks to this blog, I learnt to make friendship bracelets and made about 5 (2 of which Taiwo bullied me into giving her).

I particularly love this first picture because everything was hand made. I made the friendship bracelets and my mum made me the beads. I just might be getting her to make me some more 😀

The Girl in The Blue Skirt

A couple of weeks ago, I was out shopping at Zara and fell in love with a midi, dodger blue pleated skirt. As it sat on the mannequin’s waist with the wind enabling the Marylin Monroe effect it became clear to me. I had to have it. I picked the smallest size I could find and headed straight for the dressing room, but to my detriment even that was too big for my bony waist.

A couple of weeks on and my sister-Gbonju (remember the one from 2 posts ago?)- is sporting the skirt of my pleated fantasy with a plain black tee, a pair of coral KG’s and a DP bag. You have to admit, she’s quite the hottie.

Diving In

Undoubtedly, every summer demands a new bikini and this year I’ve been obsessing over two very unique collections.

Jason Wu’s Resort 2012 collection reveals his dive into the deep end with his neon-coloured debut pieces. The dark outlines exaggerate feminine silhouettes with the highlighted hues emphasising a pop! Love, love love these pieces.

My second and favourite swimwear obsession has got to be Mara Hoffman’s Resort Swim 2011 Runway. These beautiful indigenous prints take us on an ethical journey of bohemian creativity, they’re amazing. Here are my favourites of the lot. Hope you’re loving these as much as I am…. they’re genius!
