The Unexpected Christmas

I’d planned to spend my Christmas in Nigeria. My itinerary was very well organised with the different personalities I keep as friends on standby (depending on the function of course). But then a week ago, plans changed all of a sudden and first thing this morning, I found myself inhaling the crisp, cold air of a British winter.

Christmas should always be about family and this Christmas has been no different. The food…. don’t let me get into the food, Laitan needs to go pro…. and the love, so overwhelming.

I’m so glad to have been able to take this unexpected break and in true Kehinde fashion, I’m already counting down to Christmas 2016!

Merry Cristmas Everyone! Clichè as it may sound, we mustn’t forget that Jesus is the reason for the season 😁

Ps: I’ve put this photo up literally everywhere… Instagram, Twitter, BBM, Whatsapp…. Lol. I foresee some complaints in the near future.

Once Upon a Sunny Christmas

It’s not difficult to get me in a good mood. My friends often tell me that I’m too easily pleased and excited more often than necessary. Given the aforementioned facts, you can only imagine the excitement that raged through me on Saturday, November 30 when my friends from Uni, Sarah and Mayuri arrived in Lagos, Nigeria with the intention of spending an entire week as far away from home as their minds only ever dared to travel.

You’d imagine that the cheerful warmth, sticky humidity and bright sunshine of the Nigerian Christmas differs significantly from the bitingly cold and pristine white of the British Christmas. So it was no surprise that a spell of confusion accompanied by a smile with disbelief covered Sarah and Mayuri’s faces every now and then.

We spent endless hours stuck in traffic, several instances encapsulated in awe and countless moments drunk with laughter. Below are pictures once upon our Sunny Christmas….

Meena Sale

There’s nothing quite like shopping a Christmas sale. Especially when it comes BEFORE the D-Day! Meena is a clean, unique and modern designer I came across at Lagos Fashion and Design Week; and this Christmas, it will be hosting between 50-70% off in its first ever sale! Amongst these sale items will be the A/W collection showcased at Arise Magazine Fashion Week earlier on this year and if that collection is anything to go by, my bank account will be in the red by the end of the night.

Toshade Christmas…

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Personally, it beats Easter, the Summer and yes, it even beats Birthdays! Unfortunately, this Christmas will differ from the norm as my family won’t be together (*wails*) nevertheless, we’ll celebrate Jesus and the joy of Christmas shan’t be lost.

As Christmas shopping should be in full swing, it dawned on me that there couldn’t be a better time to market TOSHADE jewellery. Therefore, as you can see below, I have uploaded pictures of some of my favourite pieces from TOSHADE…. Beaded creativity for the simple yet stylish!

Thinking Inside the Box

There was once a time I was sure I’d be an interior designer. I’d map out different colours of painting the same room and different ways to furnish the same space. It’s therefore no surprise that when I received this pistachio green gift box, I immediately remembered my fictitious days. As I unraveled the knot to inspect how the tiny room had been utilized, I discovered a faultless array of a few of my favourite sweets amongst other things which I refuse to disclose lol.

Seeing as this is my first post in the New Year, I’ve decided that I’ll furnish my space with renewed hope, paint my walls with a fresh coat of dreams and enhance my ambiance with new possibilities. Just like my pistachio green box, my 2012 will be spent turning my space into a fully effective setting.

In the mean time, here are pictures of my pistachio green gift box set…

I know it’s late nonetheless, Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!

Ps: We have a tradition of sending each other random Christmas gifts of no use under £10. He diverted from the plan a little, but won regardless. So I guess it’s 6-4 to him. Major slacking on my part 😦

Pps: My posts are becoming more personal… not sure how I feel about this. Lol

It’s Beginning to Look A lot like Christmas….

Christmas is incontestably, undoubtedly and most definitely my favourite time of the year. Jesus was born and for that alone Christmas is a BIG DEAL!

I’m so blessed to be able to spend Christmas with my family every single year and this year is especially different cause I haven’t seen two of my sisters in 4 months and we’ve missed each other.

Below are pictures from our Christmas tree and this year, Taiwo and I had help from my beautiful cousins, Dara and Diamen. We decided to keep things simple with gold and silver and I feel this is very much representative of my family. We are simple and content but love a bit of a sparkle every now and then.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Monica (my cousin) and Uncle Dayo sent us ‘Santa’s Grotto’ (that’s what Taiwo has named it anyway, Lol) 🙂

The Jinadu’s sent us this cake

Laitan, Daddy and Gbonju.
