Arise

Last week Saturday brought a fresh bout of depression on my weekend. I’d mapped out a two-day strategy involving taking charge of the fashion empire and maybe even conquering the world, yet somehow, favour appeared to have ditched my right hand side and friendship no longer felt like a cushion.

Arise Fashion week was in Lagos and I missed the entirety of its Saturday show thanks to a few hiccups coupled with the manic traffic that constantly engulfs Lagos.

Sunday night had to be different! I attended the finale ALONE and encapsulated each awaking moment in the joy of my own company. In all honesty, the Sunday night show fell short of my tall expectations with the Okunoren twins being my personal highlight. However, my judgement might have been slightly flawed seeing as I missed the beginning and missed out on the end too.

Nonetheless, as my Dad’s driver pulled up outside the front door with me in the passenger’s seat, a glimmer of satisfaction washed over my face. I was pleased just to have made it to the show. I always like to form my own opinion on certain situations.

Below are pictures of what I wore. Pictures of the show coming soon…..

Party Rock!!!!

Last Night was mad fun! I had friends over to celebrate my birthday and it was absolutely awesome! Initially, I was really worried that the torrential rain would deter my friends from making the effort, and even though it successfully discouraged some, the bulk of the people I’d invited made it and I was over the moon.

Below is my outfit post because I’ve decided not to veer from the focus of my blog (fashion, style and beauty) hope you like.

Blouse: TopShop

Boob tube: H&M

Bodycon: Warehouse

Powder: Mac NW 45

Blusher: Mac Desert Rose

Eyeliner: Lancôme

Nail polish: Nails Inc ‘The cocktail collection by Malibu’

Ps: My lens is a wide shot/angle lens so my pictures accommodate a lot. I’m planning on buying myself another lens for Christmas though so that should be exciting.

Pps: I hardly ever have my hair down, it gets in the way of my face and drives me mad. Lol

Ppps: I was barefoot half the night. Otherwise, I had on some lime green flipflops aka rubber slippers. Lol.

The Hacking Scandal: “Modern Day Mona Lisa”

I leave the house for a couple of hours only to check my Twitter account and find that somehow, a post has been uploaded on my blog. I guess such are the consequences of leaving my account open on Taiwo’s netbook (‘Kiko’). She’s cleverly named the post “The Hacking Scandal” and ironically named Wura “Modern Day Mona Lisa” Lol. I have to admit, the post is hilarious, for this reason I’ll be leaving it up. Here’s the one-liner she’s left in reminder:

“One reason you should always log out!!! :)”

Wura’s signature pose… Lol

Top:H&M

Bag: Primark

Nail Polish: Rimmel (mine)

Ring: Topshop (mine)

Shorts: Gap culottes turned up

Sandals: Asos

Alice band: Topshop

Ps: The 1st picture has a different “Bonita Valli” embossed on it as I was experimenting on photoshop; however 24hrs on I’ve forgotten how I did it, so I’ve had to find an alternative which I will be experimenting with in my next few posts.

PPs: I went for a makeup class and can’t wait to upload the pictures, it was fun, fun FUN 🙂 You’ll love it!

High Street Update

You must have heard about the Lanvin for H&M, Jimmy Choo for H&M, Stella McCartney for H&M, you know the drill…… Well H&M have done it again and this time it’s with Versace. Now all of this has come as a bit of a shock considering that previously, Versace stated that collaborating with a high street store would confuse the brand. However, according to Vogue, it appears Donatella has had a change of heart and decided to release what she describes as a ‘quintessential Versace’ range.

The latest of H&M’s collaborations will be released on the 17th of November this year with studded leather, colourful prints and sharp tailoring dominating the collection along with a home ware range. If the success of previous collaborations are anything to go by, we can be sure that this collection will be flying off the shelves in no time.

Ore In Birmingham

Yesterday was our beloved Bukky‘s birthday and to celebrate, we headed out for the best Thai food Birmingham has to offer.

Being the sweet sister that she is, the beautiful Ore came down to celebrate with the rest of us and I’m sure you’ll agree that she was looking stunning with her ruched up-do and effortless ensemble.
