Before about a month ago, I wasn’t that into Virgos Lounge and V Label. I appreciated the heavy beading and signature styles, but never found myself shopping the brands. As wedding season crept up on me this Summer, I increasingly found myself on the websites and now own a piece from each brand. In celebration of my new found love, I have organised this giveaway open to anyone, anywhere who’s fallen in love with the brand about as much as I have.

Best Foot Forward

As with every Saturday in Lagos there was a wedding to attend on Saturday August 9. This Saturday was special though, it was Solape and Dipo’s wedding. I’ve known Solape since JS1 (year 7) and it just so happens that we also work on the same team in the office, so it goes without saying that we spend a lot of time together .

For the longest time, I couldn’t figure out what to wear and I wasn’t about to spend any more money on wedding season (Aso Ebi is so expensive)! So I sifted through my wardrobe and was lucky enough to re-discover my ROF monochrome maxi from the 2012 “Re-Belle” Collection. I’d only worn it once and it was begging for another showcase.

Below are pictures of Wura, Ilobe, Taiwo and I as we headed out to #SolaDipo2014, hope you like….

I love the Palm trees at the top of this picture. It makes you feel like you’re in an exotic country with perfect weather and beautiful views.

Taiwo’s Iro and draped neck Buba material was sourced from one of my Mum’s trips to India! Her necklace was an Accessorize gift from one of my Besties, Bukky!

Wura’s Ray Bans

Ray Bans have got to be the ultimate Sunglasses. There’s a certain smugness that comes with owning a pair of Ray B’s. Recently, my Mum came across my Dad’s Ray Bans from back in the day and she headed straight for my room to deliver the vintage goodies. To my detriment, Wura was quick to intercept and seeing as I claimed the last pair found, it was only just that I let her have these ones. Below are pictures of Wura in her Vintage Ray B’s. There’s something about the pearls and Peter Pan collar that seal the deal on this look. Love it!

Ps: When my Dad saw the Ray Bans and we asked what he thought about rocking them today, his reply was “It looks like a blind man’s glasses” *Smh*

The Hacking Scandal: “Modern Day Mona Lisa”

I leave the house for a couple of hours only to check my Twitter account and find that somehow, a post has been uploaded on my blog. I guess such are the consequences of leaving my account open on Taiwo’s netbook (‘Kiko’). She’s cleverly named the post “The Hacking Scandal” and ironically named Wura “Modern Day Mona Lisa” Lol. I have to admit, the post is hilarious, for this reason I’ll be leaving it up. Here’s the one-liner she’s left in reminder:

“One reason you should always log out!!! :)”

Ps: The 1st picture has a different “Bonita Valli” embossed on it as I was experimenting on photoshop; however 24hrs on I’ve forgotten how I did it, so I’ve had to find an alternative which I will be experimenting with in my next few posts.
